Warmer home, lower bills
This is custom heading element
Around a quarter of a home’s heat escapes through the roof. Fresh, correctly-laid loft insulation is the cheapest way to stop it , and we install it to current standards.
The service
Insulation that's laid properly, not just laid
Most lofts we visit already have some insulation , it’s just too thin, badly fitted, or crushed flat under years of storage. Current guidance is around 270mm of mineral wool, and a surprising number of Essex homes are sitting at half that or less.
We top up or replace it, laying the first layer between the joists and a second across them to break the cold bridge. Eaves are kept clear so the roof can still breathe, downlighters are kept covered safely, and the hatch gets insulated too , the bit almost everyone forgets.
If you’re planning to use the loft for storage afterwards, tell us at the quote stage. Laying insulation and then squashing it under boards undoes the work, so we’d fit raised loft boarding over the top instead.

Worth knowing
When topping up isn't the answer
Sometimes the existing insulation has to come out first , and we’ll say so rather than laying new wool over a problem.
Vermiculite present
Loose grey-brown granules need testing and proper removal before anything new goes down.
Damp or vermin
Contaminated wool holds moisture and smell. It comes out, the loft gets cleaned, then we re-insulate.
